It was the Danish furniture maker, Hans Gustav Ehrenreich (1917-1984), who in 1968 created the cheerful and cute Hoptimists. The characteristic, powerful colours and round shapes were a trend during that time period. Ehrenreich took part in many international expositions and received many awards, both in his home country and abroad, for his craftwork.
